Hydrolyzed Polyacrylamide Screening for EOR in an Indonesia Mature Oil Field

Most of Indonesia’s oil field has been producing the for long period time. For this reason, enhanced recovery (EOR) method becomes most promising to improve production country. Chemical flooding, especially polymer flooding is simplest and commonly applied chemical technique, since it can be used after water process. Screening considered first step in evaluating selecting potential polymers reservoirs. Therefore, paper aims select partially Hydrolyzed Polyacrylamide (HPAM) base find suitable a targeted mature reservoir Indonesia. A screening study was carried out on 3 HPAM identify candidate which withstand conditions. These are Kerui, Zekindo, FP 3630S. Initially, comprehensive rheological (viscosity, shear rate) conducted at various concentrations (500 - 2500 ppm) brine investigate polymers. Then, filtration screen factor test (1000 2000 ppm). thermal stability anaerobic condition 140 °F 2 months. Finally, core test. Based result test, 3630S with concentration ppm chosen The designed steps: At first, injected into sample, followed by polymer-solvent concentrated 1 PV, finally water. results showed 28.93 % OOIP. performed develop criteria correlate prediction.
